Bachelor of Science in Operation Theatre & Anaesthesia Technology

An anaesthesia technician is an allied healthcare professional. Their main task is to assist Doctors/Surgeons during surgery, by administering the appropriate dose of anaesthesia and operating anaesthesia equipment whenever required.

The Operation Theater and Anesthesia Technologist are responsible for direct and indirect patient care, equipment set up and operation procedures. They are trained to assist the surgeons during the procedures and assume responsibility for completion of other functions as assigned.

They can be seen assisting Doctors/Surgeons in Intensive Care Units (ICU), Emergency wards and departments and Operation Theatres. Largely, their task is preoperative. That means they are required before the operation starts, to administer anaesthetic agent to the patient. In some cases, there are also needed to perform the said task during or after surgery.

Admission Criteria

Should have passed 10+2 Examination with science physics, Chemistry, Biology, Maths from recognized board. Should have completed the minimum age of 17 years as on or before 31st December and not exceeding the maximum age of 20 years repectively.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate who has passed any qualifying examinations other than the Higher Secondary Course examination conducted by the Government of Tamil Nadu should obtain Eligibility Certificate from the University by remitting the prescribed fees along with application form which shall be downloaded from the University Website www.tnmmu.ac.in and produce it at the time of admission.

Duration

3 Year + 1 Year Internship
